  1. I ha no idea that November was national diabetes awareness month but this is something I do worry about having or worse having but not knowing I do so I do try but I know there’s a lot of room for improvement.

By looking at the charts I can see that I need to cut back on or cut out fried foods, dairy products and processed carbs

Thanks for the info, great post, keep it up

    1. Thank You

I thank you for commenting on the article and your own concern for diabetes, I also fear getting diabetes and try to eat as healthy as I possibly can to prevent it. Helping each other with good information is our best strategy, I wish you much luck on adjusting your diet.

  2. Hi there. I just finished reading your article about weight loss and diabetes and just had to drop you a quick comment to share my thoughts.

I recently had a check up for diabetes and the results came back saying that I was borderline diabetic. I went away and did a little research on what I should do and what was best to eat.

In the end I started out on a vegan diet for about a month. I found this quite difficult to stick to but have found a happy medium in cutting out all dairy products and only having meat once or twice per week.

Not only has this reversed my diabetes, but I also feel fantastic as well.

    1. Thank You Andrew

I want to thank you for reading my article and commenting, I love when I hear my readers have had success overcoming their health obstacles. I too tried the vegan diet but like you I found a happy medium by eating mostly plant-based meals with high protein snacks, meat no more than a few times per week

  3. My son is prone to diabetes and really has to watch what he eats. I am thinking that these diets might be a great way for him to get accustomed to eating less sugar, eating healthier, and loosing a few pounds to boot. Which diet do you think is the best of the ones you have listed? I am thinking the DASH diet, but I am not sure. Thank you!

    1. Thank You,

All these diets are good options for your son with borderline diabetes, I have tried them all and I am doing the best on the DASH diet. I am able to stick to this diet much better than any others I have tried, maybe your son and you will have to do like I did and start with one and see how it works for you? I recommend starting with the DASH diet, It is my favorite choice.

  4. Thanks for this list of items that are healthy for diabetes to eat in order to lose weight.

Being from a family that has a high risk for this disease I found this article very interesting.

Would you recommend eating certain foods during a certain time of day or does it matter ?

    1. Thank You,

I really don’t think what time of the day we eat certain foods is a problem, I think the main problems is what we are eating within each 24 hour day.
