Hi, Jeff. I found your website to be very interesting. The video was awesome. I have a Himalayan salt lamp that I use as a night light, as I have allergies, and it helps to clean the air. However, I was not aware of all the other products that are available. Thanks for this informative website. Carol

Hi Jeff. This was so interesting to me. I guess I’ve been living under a rock, but I have never heard of this. I loved the video. Seeing the Tuna Fish cook right on the salt slab was amazing. Anyway, thanks for the information. I will certainly look further into this.

I didn’t know there was a difference between Himalayan Salt and table salt until I read your article. Oh my goodness! All the health benefits I have been missing out. And guess what? A friend gave me 2 large bags of Himalayan Salt, and I have left them in a corner rarely used.

I am going to take them out, and use them to the best possible ways. And reap all the health benefits. After they are depleted, I will buy the brands recommended here. You are trustworthy, and I will buy what you recommend. Thank you! 🙂

      Hello Tim
It is amazing how we tuck something away and are not using it,
then find out it is something we should be using instead of
      what we are using.

I am happy you have two bags of Himalayan salt to use,
you will know by the time you finish those bags if
this is a positive change for you.

      Thank You
      Jeff

    Hi Jeff,

I do a lot of smoked meats and fish in a smoker. This requires making brines and rubs. Can I use this Himalayan salt the same way I would use other salts in these processes? This sounds like a great alternative and I would love to try it.
From one of your other articles, I was inspired to grab the Himalayan salt lamp and love it! I have only had it a couple days but it is such a soothing light. I am sure we will be enjoying it a long time.

    Thank you!

    • Jeff says:

      Hello Christina
How was your weekend, I hope you enjoyed the weekend with your family and friends?

Yes, you can substitute Himalayan salt instead of your old table salt completely if
you desire too. I am sure you will enjoy this substitution, and your body will thank
      you as well in time.

This is a great post and just the information I was looking for. Due to my way of eating I am having to increase my salt intake and a friend had suggested using the Himalayan salt instead of the regular table salt we all know. I did not realize the health benefits associated with the Himalayan salt and wondering why I have not been using it all along. It sounds like the Salmon recipe would be great as I always love cooking in the cast iron skillet, the food just seems to taste better.

    • Jeff says:

      Hello Dena
I am happy my post found you when you needed it the most,
yes Himalayan salt one day might replace the table salt
      we grew up using.

  • Brenda says:

Thanks for the great information on Himalayan sea salt! I cut back on table salt many years ago and can honestly say it made a huge difference in my health. I use sea salt but it isn’t Himalayan sea salt, so after reading your article I know I need to make sure I’m using this! I was wondering about your comments about using too much can be harmful and cause heart failure, high blood pressure, etc. What amount is too much? I just add some salt when cooking, I never add salt after cooking, so am I okay? Do you have any suggestions on getting people off of salt? I have a brother who uses way too much table salt and I worry about him since he is diabetic. But sometimes it’s hard to teach an old dog new tricks, but thought you might have some suggestions! Thanks for informing us of the many benefits of Himalayan salt!

    • Jeff says:

      Hello Brenda
Himalayan salt is just like anything if you abuse it you can
be affected negatively, you should only be using himalayan salt
      for seasoning and sparingly.

      Jeff
