Salmon Cooked In Himalayan Sea Salt Recipe

  1. Spread the Himalayan sea salt evenly in a cast iron 10 Inch Skillet
  2. Heat over moderately high heat until salt is hot to touch approximately 4 minutes
  3. Pat dry salmon fillets and season with salt and pepper

    I didn’t know there was a difference between Himalayan Salt and table salt until I read your article. Oh my goodness! All the health benefits I have been missing out. And guess what? A friend gave me 2 large bags of Himalayan Salt, and I have left them in a corner rarely used.

    Hi Jeff,

    I do a lot of smoked meats and fish in a smoker. This requires making brines and rubs. Can I use this Himalayan salt the same way I would use other salts in these processes? This sounds like a great alternative and I would love to try it.
    From one of your other articles, I was inspired to grab the Himalayan salt lamp and love it! I have only had it a couple days but it is such a soothing light. I am sure we will be enjoying it a long time.

    This is a great post and just the information I was looking for. Due to my way of eating I am having to increase my salt intake and a friend had suggested using the Himalayan salt instead of the regular table salt we all know. I did not realize the health benefits associated with the Himalayan salt and wondering why I have not been using it all along. It sounds like the Salmon recipe would be great as I always love cooking in the cast iron skillet, the food just seems to taste better.

    Thanks for the great information on Himalayan sea salt! I cut back on table salt many years ago and can honestly say it made a huge difference in my health. I use sea salt but it isn’t Himalayan sea salt, so after reading your article I know I need to make sure I’m using this! I was wondering about your comments about using too much can be harmful and cause heart failure, high blood pressure, etc. What amount is too much? I just add some salt when cooking, I never add salt after cooking, so am I okay? Do you have any suggestions on getting people off of salt? I have a brother who uses way too much table salt and I worry about him since he is diabetic. But sometimes it’s hard to teach an old dog new tricks, but thought you might have some suggestions! Thanks for informing us of the many benefits of Himalayan salt!

      Himalayan salt is just like anything if you abuse it you can
      be affected negatively, you should only be using himalayan salt
      for seasoning and sparingly.
